Been following the new series of Mazinger Z. As a fan, I wasn't much blown away about the pacing of the story telling. The earlier 4-5 episodes was very slow and boring. Maybe it was designed for younger audiences, getting acquainted with how stuff works. But it was just so slow. Though I'm happy to say that 2-3 episodes after, the pacing becomes a little bit more exciting.

having jsut finished watching shin mazinger i got to say that is a awesome series as super robot anime goes. only negative thing i can say about the series is that it has the donwer ending wiht the way that the fight ended wiht ended between kouji piloting mazinger against ankoku daishogun with god mazinger being heavily damaged from the fight and kouji being passed out at the controls or otherwisepresumably dead or near death from exhaustion.
well i got to thinking what if the final episode had instead recycled the last few scenes from the beginning of episode one where kouji used big bang punch on ankoku but then switches over to mazinger emerging from the ground and the wreckage of gool 1(this being to imply that while kouki may have succeddded in using big bang punch to destroy ankoku wiht the resulting explosion wiping out his followers as well the explosuions resulting shockwave buried mazinger under all tht wreckage in the earth as well hence maxinger emerging from the ground from benath the wreackage of gool 1.)
wiht the final scene being taken from the end of episode 1 of kouji in mazinger making that heroic final stand wiht the rousing speech in the name of his fallen teammates to take oout dr hells restored flying bardos island(the idea I'm toying wiht is that in this alternate ending dr hell had copied his mind to the islands computers systems in the event of his unlikely death before he died to insure that even in death he would destroy kouji and mazinger with the final blow from beyond the grave with the final scene of this alternate ending being of kouji giving that speech in memory of his fallen comrades as he gets in the final deathblow against bardos island wiht big bang punch .
basicly a recycling of scenes from episodes 1 and 2 to create a alternate more heroic proper ending to shin mazinger so that the series would go out on a high note in the end inistead of the original downer ending
